Ready to Bowl?? Join your NMFMA colleagues for some friendly competition and to catch up at Starlight Bowling Center for some bowling, food, and beverages, covered by NMFMA!

Getting ready to take the CFM Exam? Not sure where to start studying? Attend the Peer Learning Session: How to Best Prepare for the Digital CFM Exam for some additional insight and feedback from recent test takers.



Your 2026 NMFMA Workshop begins! With the theme of “Responding to Change: Floodplain Management in the Land of Enchantment”, the workshop will feature engaging plenary speakers and topical concurrent sessions on strategies being implemented to adapt to changes in policy and resources as well as the changing natural environment.

The 2026 NMFMA Workshop continues, with concurrent sessions all day. Also join us for the NMFMA Membership & Award Luncheon where we recognize awardees for the year and provide a business update on news for the organization.



Join us for the NMFMA Sponsor Social Game Night. Wear your favorite team jersey and snack on "game night" goodies while thanking our Workshop sponsors, mingle with old colleagues and make new acquaintances!

Want to check out some local floodplain projects? Reserve your spot on the Flood Control Field trip to visit multiple project sites completed by local flood control authorities to cap off your Workshop week!

This year’s workshop will again be held at the Santa Ana Star Casino & Hotel in Bernalillo as Santa Ana continues to offer the most economical option for the organization.

Purpose of the New Mexico Floodplain Managers Association

1. To promote public awareness of proper floodplain management;


2. To promote the professional status of floodplain management and secure all benefits resulting there from;

3. To promote a liaison between individual concerns with proper floodplain management and to encourage the exchange of ideas;

4. To keep individuals concerned with proper floodplain management well informed through education and professional seminars and to provide a method for dissemination of information, both general and technical;

5. To inform concerned individuals of pending floodplain legislation and other related management matters, and;

6. To study and support legislation pertinent and necessary to the effective implementation of floodplain management matters.
